Hilton Haulage in Ashburton, Canterbury, is seeking Class 5 drivers for nightshift to join a skilled, safety-focused team. You will operate a top-notch fleet on routes between Ashburton, Christchurch and Dunedin, with an emphasis on reliability and professional vehicle presentation.

We offer guaranteed hours (80 hours per fortnight), allowances after 3pm, a company phone for personal use, and health insurance after 12 months of continuous service.

Qualifications

• Class 5 Licence with 2 years experience
• Experience with containers and swinglifts beneficial; training available
• E endorsement & OSH certificate preferred
• Good knowledge of Canterbury region
• Adaptable and quick learner
• Teamwork and customer service oriented
• Swinglift experience beneficial

Responsibilities

• Operate nightshift driving opportunities based in Ashburton
• Follow routes Ashburton-Christchurch and Ashburton-Dunedin
• Prioritize safety, vehicle maintenance and in-cab presentation
• Flexible schedule: typically Mon-Fri, occasional weekends
• Willingness to learn new technology and adapt as required

What the role looks like:

We currently have 2 nightshift driving opportunities based in Ashburton for experienced Class 5 drivers looking to work in a highly skilled and dynamic team operating a top-notch fleet. Prior experienced driving skellys and working as a Container Operator would be an advantage and any experience with swinglifts would also be beneficial, although training can be given.

Typical routes:

• Ashburton based – between Ashburton and Christchurch and also Ashburton to Dunedin

Your attention to safety, maintenance, and vehicle operation will reflect the high standards our loyal customers and suppliers expect and drivers must be clean and tidy with good habits around in-cab presentation. Flexibility is required to suit business and seasonal needs.

Work pattern:
Full-time, permanent role with a regular roster:

• Typically Monday – Friday (occasional weekends)
• Nightshift – 5.00pm start (some 3-5pm starts)
• Average shift: 8 –12 hours

What you bring to the table:

• Class 5 Licence (or equivalent) with 2 years of experience – you’re flexible and reliable.
• Ideally previous container operator experience, and experienced driving skellys
• F endorsement & OSH certificate (preferred, but not essential)
• Good geographical knowledge of the Canterbury region
• A knack for learning new technology – show us your adaptability!
• A passion for teamwork and customer service
• Any swinglift experience would be beneficial, although training can be given
