Job summary

Visy Logistics in Timaru is seeking Class 5 drivers to join our intermodal team. You'll operate container trucks across Timaru Metro and Ports, with occasional regional trips, on a stable full-time schedule starting early (5am).

We value safety, reliability and great customer service as you build relationships with clients, perform pre-trip inspections, complete electronic reports, and comply with Fatigue and Load Restraint rules.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Clean Class 5 Licence.
Experience with skeletal trailers and container transport is desirable.
Experience with side curtain, swinglift, truck & trailer, and container trailers is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of the Canterbury Region, Timaru metro area and ports.
Excellent communication, time management and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Solid understanding of road, fatigue and load restraint laws.
Pride in the presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate a Class 5 container truck, single or double trailer for timely freight pick-up and delivery.
Build strong relationships with customers with friendly service.
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
Complete electronic reporting and required documentation.
Comply with all company/site policies and transport regulations.
Adhere to load restraint guidelines for safe transport.
