Job summary

VNS Express 2026 Limited Ashburton is looking for a Store Person to join a busy dairy, food bar and takeaway store. The role is full-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week, across seven days, with weekend work required.

Key tasks include receiving deliveries, unloading vehicles, checking stock against dockets, labeling, packing items, and assisting with stocktakes. The store operates 5:00am–6:00pm daily in Ashburton.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year's relevant work experience in retail/warehouse or hospitality/food environment.

• Unload delivery vehicles and sort stock for put away.
• Use POS and stock system to record stock location and quantity.
• Label stock with correct locations and pricing.
• Pack and weigh dairy, food bar and takeaway items for sale or storage.
• Safely lift and move stock in shelves, stockroom and coolroom.
• Prepare stock and food orders per lists and store procedures.
• Assist with regular stocktakes.

Store Person – Full-Time VNS Express 2026 Limited Ashburton

A busy, well-established dairy, food bar and takeaway store located in Ashburton, trading seven days a week. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Store Person to help keep our store well-stocked, organised and running smoothly.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Receive incoming stock deliveries, checking goods against delivery dockets and invoices, and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Unload delivery vehicles, unpack cartons and other packaging, and sort and put away stock.
• Use the store's stock and point-of-sale system to check and record the location and quantity of stock items.
• Label stock with correct storage locations and pricing.
• Pack, weigh and seal goods, including dairy, food bar and takeaway items, ready for sale or storage.
• Safely lift, place and retrieve stock stored on shelving and in the stockroom and coolroom, including items stored at height.
• Pick and prepare stock and food/beverage orders in line with store procedures, checking items against picking lists.
• Assist with regular stocktakes of the store's stock.
• Use materials handling equipment such as pallet lifters, hand trucks and trolleys to move stock around the store, where required.

Key Terms and Conditions

• Employment type: Full-time, permanent
• Hours of work: A minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, rostered across the store's trading days (Monday to Sunday). The store trades from 5.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week, and this role requires weekend (Saturday and Sunday) work as part of the roster.
• Pay rate: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

Minimum Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• A New Zealand Register (NZQF) Level 2 qualification, or an equivalent qualification; OR
• A minimum of one year's relevant work experience in a retail, warehouse, or hospitality/food environment.
