Job summary

Service Foods Taranaki is seeking a Store Person/Driver for our New Plymouth location. The role covers warehouse operations, deliveries, stock management, and occasional admin tasks, offering varied, hands-on work.

You will assist with loading, stock checks, customer service, and dispatch. A Full Class 1 licence is required, and NZ residency or valid visa is needed. Expected shifts include 30 hours per week with potential extra hours.

LOOKING FOR A FULL TIME CANDIDATE FOR SUPERVISOR FOR OUR STORE>HOURS WILL BE FULL TIME BETWEEN 30-38 WEEK CAN BE MORE DEPEND ON PERFORMENCE. WORK HOURS WILL BE ANYDAYS IN A WEEK AND TIMING CAN BE FROM 6:30 AM TO 8:30 PM ANYTIME IN A SHIFT WISE. SPLIT SHIFT AND STORE OPENING AND CLOSING DUTIES NEED MUST

*Candidate Must Have Duty Managers to work at Alcohol premises.

-The position is based in New Plymouth and the ideal candidate should be capable of

• ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services
• responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about goods and services
• planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties and i i nterviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances
• instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures;
• examining returned goods and deciding on appropriate action;
• taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock;
• Ensuring that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed;
• ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced.

You are required to atleast have a high qualification or one year of work experience managing or supervising the operations.

The minimum hourly wage is $24 and the Maximum is $25 and this is a full time position with gaurenteed 30 hours a week.

About the Role

• Location: Saltash Street, Vogeltown, New Plymouth
• Employment Type: Part-Time, Permanent

• Working Hours: Monday, Thursday and Friday (07:00 am to 01:00pm)
• Note: Start/finish times may vary depending on customer orders and business requirements.

As a key member of our Taranaki branch, you'll be a true all-rounder, supporting warehouse operations, deliveries, stock management, dispatch, and occasional administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to help a small team succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company delivery vehicles and complete deliveries accurately and on time.
• Load and unload vehicles and assist with general warehouse operations.
• Receive, inspect, barcode, label, and record incoming stock.
• Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock rotation (FIFO).
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and expiry dates.
• Support dispatch activities, truck loading, and invoice processing.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist with occasional administrative tasks and order entry.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all health, safety, and food safety policies and procedures.
• Perform manual handling and heavy lifting as required.

What We're Looking For

• Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Forklift and/or Class 2 Licence would be advantageous.
• Physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn SAGE.
• Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous warehouse, pick-packing, delivery, or food industry experience is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
• Familiarity with New Plymouth and surrounding areas is advantageous.
• Clean driving and criminal record.
• NZ Citizen, Resident, or holder of a valid New Zealand work visa.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active role involving regular lifting of up to 20 kgs, loading and unloading deliveries, repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, and twisting, and extended periods of driving, standing, walking, and manual handling. Applicants should be comfortable with the physical nature of the role and able to safely perform its inherent requirements.
