Job summary

Managed Labour Hire in Christchurch seeks workers with a full Class 2 licence and WTR endorsement for civil-site roles. You will drive small tippers and operate light plant, while also performing site tasks to keep projects moving.

Roles are day shifts with some nights, and you will be part of a team that aims to have you home most nights. You’ll need NZ work rights, be prepared for physical work, and be willing to learn/advance through classes (Class 4/5 later).

Managed Labour Hire – Christchurch, South Island

We’ve got a mix of Class 2 roles on civil sites across Christchurch, Rolleston and Rangiora — small tippers, rollers, loaders and other small plant, depending on the job and what your WTR lets you run. This is a hands‑on role: when the truck’s parked up, you’re out helping the crew, not watching from the cab. Most roles are day shift, with some nights available.

Tell us what you’re good at, and what you want to be doing. It’s our job to find the perfect role for you. If you want to get on the ladder — Class 2 now, Class 4 and Class 5 down the track — this is a good place to start. If you like being part of a team that gets the job done together, and want to be home every night, read on. A lot of the work involves been on the tools as well, or on other machines, thats why we the WTR is important, so If you are just looking for a driving job where you can self load then make sure you tell us

A quick word on right to work

You’ll need to already be living in New Zealand with the right to work here. These roles are based in Canterbury and we’re not offering visa sponsorship, so if you’re not currently in NZ with existing work rights, we won’t be able to consider your application.

Key responsibilities

About you

• A full, current Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement
• Some civil or roading site experience — or a genuine willingness to learn
• Happy to do the physical work alongside the crew, not just the driving
• Someone who respects the gear and looks after itThe right to work in NZ (no sponsorship, sorry)
• This role includes pre‑employment and random drug and alcohol testing
• Previous labouring experience on civil sites
• ConstructSafe or Site Safe, and Traffic Management tickets
• Your Class 4 — or the ambition to get it
• $28–$32+/hr, paid weekly — and it’s a real employee rate. WTR‑endorsed roles pay more.
• Holiday pay, sick leave, KiwiSaver on top, never rolled into your hourly rate
• Home every night, with seasonal night shifts on offer if you want them — with a night allowance or a higher rate
• Genuine long‑term opportunities with established local Canterbury contractors
• A real path up the ladder — Class 2 to Class 4, then Class 5
