Job summary

Tradestaff in Masterton is seeking a hardworking Class 2 Driver to move aggregates, gravel and equipment across busy civil sites. Immediate start, weekly pay, and hands-on site work with a supportive crew.

You'll be part of a crew, staying safe around machinery and contributing to earthworks and drainage tasks on fast-paced civil projects in the Masterton area.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Class 2 NZ licence with driving experience.
• Civil construction or earthworks experience preferred.
• Confident operating trucks safely around machinery and active worksites.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labour.
• Reliable transport and ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Strong work ethic and safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 trucks on active civil sites.
• Cart aggregates, gravel, spoil, equipment and materials.
• Load, unload, and transport materials between sites.
• Assist with trenching, digging, shovelling and earthworks.
• Support drainage crews with pipe laying and site prep.
• Assist compaction, spreading aggregate and ground prep.
• Hands-on civil labouring to help the crew.

Job description

We’re on the hunt for a hardworking Class 2 Driver to get stuck into busy civil construction projects across Masterton. If you’re confident behind the wheel, know your way around a civil site and aren’t afraid to jump out of the cab and get your hands dirty, we want to hear from you! We’re looking for someone who’s physically fit, agile and ready to pitch in wherever the crew needs a hand.

Location: Masterton, Wairarapa

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $28.00–$34.00 per hour, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Driving Class 2 trucks across busy civil construction sites
• Carting aggregates, gravel, spoil, equipment and construction materials
• Loading, unloading and safely transporting materials between sites
• Assisting with trenching, digging, shovelling and general earthworks
• Supporting drainage crews with pipe laying, backfilling and site preparation
• Helping with compaction, spreading aggregate and ground preparation
• Jumping out of the cab to support the crew with hands-on civil labouring

What we’re looking for

• Full, clean Class 2 NZ driver’s licence with relevant driving experience
• Previous civil construction or earthworks experience preferred
• Confident operating trucks safely around machinery and active worksites
• Physically fit, agile and comfortable with demanding manual labour
• Happy to jump out of the truck and get stuck into digging and shovelling
• Reliable transport and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Strong work ethic, good attitude and a safety-first mindset
