Job summary

CARTERS Whangarei is seeking a reliable Class 2 driver to deliver building materials, while also supporting yard and branch operations. You will interact with customers daily, maintain safety standards, and work toward Hiab certification with company support.

The role offers a permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week and a strong focus on customer service and team collaboration within the Whangarei branch.

Qualifications

• NZ driver licence required (and valid working entitlements in NZ)
• Class 2 licence is mandatory; Class 4 advantageous
• Forklift licence with OSH cert desirable
• Experience driving curtain‑side trucks and loading/unloading building materials
• Team-focused attitude with strong customer rapport and safety discipline
• Physical fitness for occasional heavy lifting and safe manual handling

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain‑side truck to deliver building materials to customers
• Engage with customers and build strong relationships on-site and on the road
• Assist with yard and branch operations when not driving
• Support Hiab certification pathway with CARTERS' backing
• Adhere to safety regulations and loading procedures
• Contribute to a reliable, on-time delivery and service culture

Class 2 / Customer Service Representative

Got your Class 2 licence and a genuine passion for customer service? CARTERS Whangarei is looking for a reliable, hands-on Class 2 Driver to join our team and help keep our customers' sites moving. This is a varied, on-the-road role at the heart of our branch operations. You will operate a curtain side truck, safely and accurately delivering building materials to our valued customers, while building great relationships along the way. When you are not on the road, get stuck in the day-to-day yard and branch operations

About you

You will be an experienced Class 2 driver or hold a Class 4 licence and be keen to gain your Hiab certification, which CARTERS will support you to achieve. You will be a great fit for this role if you are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and can demonstrate the following skills, qualities, and certifications:

• Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence
• Class 2 licence, Class 4 advantageous
• Forklift F Endorsed Licence with OSH Certificate desirable
• Experience driving a curtain‑side truck, including loading and unloading building materials using side‑curtain access
• A team-focused attitude with a positive, can-do approach and building the rapport with our customers
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
• Strong safety awareness and understanding of relevant regulations
• Building industry knowledge an advantage
