Job summary

Southroads, a Southland civil contractor in New Zealand, is seeking a Bid Writer to coordinate the tender process across its civil construction operations. You will write clear tender submissions, align pricing and methodology with estimating and operations, and manage deadlines while ensuring accuracy and commercial soundness.

You will work with internal teams, refine bid content, and help strengthen future submissions by applying lessons learned from prior tenders.

Qualifications

Experience coordinating or managing multiple bids, tenders or proposals.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to turn technical information into compelling content.
Good commercial judgement and an understanding of what makes a strong tender submission.
Confidence working with internal stakeholders and contributing to client discussions.
Civil construction, infrastructure or a related technical industry background.
Strong MS Office skills; Power BI or estimating software exposure would be useful but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

Writing clear, persuasive and well-structured tender responses.
Coordinating multiple bids, contributors and competing deadlines.
Working with estimating, operations and commercial teams to bring together pricing, methodology, risk and compliance information.
Supporting client submissions, clarifications and negotiations throughout the tender process.
Reviewing previous bid outcomes and applying lessons learned to strengthen future submissions.
