Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber design principles.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and standards.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Structural Engineer to join their vibrant team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is focused on the structural design and analysis of a variety of building projects, from residential and commercial developments to industrial facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and integrity of structures from conception through to construction completion. The position requires a solid understanding of structural principles, materials, and building codes. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant structural solutions. We are looking for a proactive engineer who can contribute technical expertise and leadership to building design projects within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for building structures, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and roof structures. Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant design software and CAD tools. Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations (NBR) and relevant South African Standards (SANS). Review architectural plans and specifications to identify structural requirements and potential challenges. Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to discuss design proposals and resolve structural issues. Conduct site inspections during the construction phase to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications. Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams on-site. Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and tender documents.

Requirements
