Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration (e.g., Technologist or Engineer) is an advantage.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in civil construction.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising road construction, bulk earthworks, or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good knowledge of relevant South African construction standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage site challenges.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA area.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering construction activities.
• Ensure construction work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth site operations.
• Manage site logistics, material management, and equipment utilization.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project management.
• Resolve site-related technical issues and challenges in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
