Job summary

Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is seeking an experienced Civil Operator to join our busy crew. You’ll operate excavators, rollers and other civil machinery across civil, forestry and roading sites in Hawke’s Bay, with immediate start and weekly pay through Tradestaff. A Full Class 4 licence and WTR endorsements are essential, as is experience and a strong safety record. You must have reliable transport and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

• Full Class 4 driver’s licence – essential.
• Current WTR endorsements – essential.
• Proven excavator and roller operating experience.
• Civil, forestry and/or roading experience.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Reliable transport to get to and from work.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Clean Ministry of Justice record.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, rollers and other civil machinery.
• Work across civil construction, forestry and roading projects.
• Perform earthworks, site preparation, trenching and general machine operation.
• Complete daily machinery checks and basic maintenance.
• Work safely around other plant, machinery and ground crews.
• Assist with general site duties when required.
• Follow site plans, instructions and H&S procedures.
