Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Civil Labourer to join a well-established civil and drainage contractor in Hastings. The role involves assisting tradespeople on site, supporting drainage works, and maintaining safe, tidy work areas in an outdoor civil environment.

Starting in October with a pay rate of $25–$30 per hour, paid weekly. Candidates should be physically fit, safety-focused, and able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

• Experience on civil sites is preferred.
• Must be physically fit and have a hands-on attitude.
• Excellent Health & Safety awareness is required.
• Comfortable working outdoors in active civil environments.
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
• Willing to work as part of a busy site team.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assisting experienced tradespeople and civil crews on site.
• Supporting general civil and drainage works.
• Handling materials, equipment and tools safely.
• Assisting with site preparation and general labouring duties.
• Keeping work areas tidy, organised and safe.
• Completing physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
• Following site instructions and Health & Safety procedures.
