Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Dunedin is seeking a Contracting Division Manager to lead our Contracting Projects and Rail teams across a varied portfolio including regional and maintenance work, excavation, pavement construction and safety improvements.

This senior role requires a minimum of 10 years in contracting, proven leadership, and strong pricing and tendering experience to secure forward work while maintaining client relationships and the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, or significant industry experience.
• At least 10 years’ experience in a contracting environment, including KiwiRail experience.
• Strong leadership capability to build high-performing teams and safety/quality culture.
• Proven experience pricing, tendering and winning work with understanding of government procurement processes.
• Strong commercial, communication and relationship-building skills; solid NZ health, safety and environmental understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the Contracting Projects and Rail teams, delivering on plans, budgets and KPIs.
• Build and maintain a strong safety, environmental and quality culture; ensure training and readiness.
• Oversee pricing, tendering and securing forward work to meet/exceed department targets.
• Build honest, collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders; manage expectations.
• Manage deployment of people and resources; ensure reporting and claims are accurate and timely.
