Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Dunedin is seeking an experienced Civil Carpenter to join our hands‑on team. You will work across formwork, concrete structures, timber work for railings and bridges, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. Join a supportive crew delivering good work daily.

We’re looking for 8+ years’ experience in residential or civil carpentry, a current Class 1 licence (Class 2 and endorsements bonus), and a proactive, team‑oriented approach to workmanship.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in residential building or civil carpentry.
• Current Class 1 licence; Class 2 and W, T, R endorsements a bonus.
• Strong practical skills and confidence working outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans with strong attention to detail.
• Construct complex falsework and formwork for concrete structures using timber or form systems.
• Complete detailed timber work for structures such as railings, boardwalks, bridges and fences.
• Pour and place concrete, and safely use handheld tools and equipment.
• Take part in pre-starts, risk planning, and help keep work safe, on time and to a high standard.

We’re looking for an experienced Civil Carpenter to join our team at Fulton Hogan. This is a hands‑on role for someone who knows their craft, takes pride in quality work, and wants to be part of a team that backs each other to deliver Good Work every day. You’ll work across a range of civil construction activities, from complex formwork and concrete structures through to detailed timber work on railings, boardwalks, bridges and fences.
