Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Dunedin, NZ is seeking an experienced Civil Carpenter for a hands-on role across a range of civil construction tasks including formwork, concrete, timber work on railings, boardwalks, bridges and fences. Read plans with precision and contribute to a safe, high‑quality output.

You will work outdoors in a team, uphold safety standards, and bring 8+ years in residential or civil carpentry along with a valid Class 1 licence (Class 2 and endorsements are a bonus).

Qualifications

• Read and interpret plans with strong attention to detail.
• Construct complex falsework and formwork for concrete structures using timber or form systems.
• Complete detailed timber work for structures such as railings, boardwalks, bridges and fences.
• Pour and place concrete, and safely use handheld tools and equipment.
• Take part in pre-starts, risk planning, and help keep work safe, on time and to a high standard.
• 8+ years’ experience in residential building or civil carpentry within the construction industry.
• A current Class 1 licence, with Class 2 and W, T, R endorsements a bonus.
• Strong practical skills and confidence working outdoors in a hands‑on environment.
• A proactive, team‑focused approach with a strong eye for quality and problem solving.
• A genuine commitment to safety, reliability, respect, and doing the job properly.
