Job summary

NZ Creameries in East Tamaki is seeking a Churn Room Operator for the afternoon shift. You will safely and efficiently operate the churn room, helping ensure our ice cream products meet quality, appearance and food safety standards.

You will work with the production team to maintain process control, minimise downtime, maximise yield and complete accurate production records, while following food safety and safety requirements at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing, dairy, FMCG or a similar production environment.
• Ability to follow procedures and complete records accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and quality.
• A practical, safety-focused approach with good problem-solving skills.
• A reliable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operate the ice cream churns safely and efficiently in line with the production schedule.
• Work with the production team to keep product moving and maintain quality standards.
• Complete required production, cleaning and quality checks accurately.
• Keep the churn room clean, hygienic and well organised.
• Follow food safety, health and safety, and hygiene requirements at all times.
• Raise any equipment, product or process issues promptly so they can be addressed.
