Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Chip Sealing Specialist Operator in Auckland to join our surfacing crew. You will operate chip sealing machinery, support safe road sealing works and help deliver durable, safer roads for communities.

This hands-on role involves working outdoors across Auckland with chip spreaders, bitumen sprayers, and rollers, ensuring worksites are prepared and quality standards are met. Flexibility to align with weather and road closure schedules is key.

Qualifications

• Hands-on outdoor role operating chip sealing plant and equipment.
• Experience in chip sealing, roading, surfacing or wider civil construction work.
• Current Class 2 licence with WTR.

Responsibilities

• Operate chip sealing plant and equipment including bitumen sprayers, chip spreaders and rollers.
• Prepare worksites and assist the crew to deliver sealing works safely, efficiently and to specification.
• Apply bitumen and aggregate to the correct standard while monitoring quality on site.
• Inspect, clean and maintain equipment to keep it safe and reliable.
• Work safely around live traffic, hot materials and changing site conditions, following safety requirements.
• Demonstrate reliability and a team-first attitude with flexible hours to match weather/road closures.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role working as part of an experienced road surfacing crew across Auckland. You'll operate specialised plant such as bitumen sprayers, chip spreaders and rollers, while helping prepare sites and deliver chip sealing work to the right standard. It's a role for someone who values safety, works well in a team, and is comfortable with flexible hours to match weather conditions and road closure schedules.

• Operate chip sealing plant and equipment including bitumen sprayers, chip spreaders and rollers.
  
• Prepare worksites and support the crew to deliver sealing works safely, efficiently and to specification.
  
• Apply bitumen and aggregate to the correct standard while monitoring quality on site.
  
• Inspect, clean and maintain equipment to keep it safe, reliable and ready for use.
  
• Work safely around live traffic, hot materials and changing site conditions, following all Fulton Hogan safety requirements.
• Experience in chip sealing, roading, surfacing or wider civil construction work.
  
• Proven plant operating skills and confidence working with specialist surfacing equipment.
  
• Current Class 2 licence with WTR.
  
• Reliability, a team-first attitude, and flexibility to work hours that suit weather and road closure programmes.
