Placements24 is assisting a community-focused childcare provider in Queenstown to recruit a dependable Childcare Assistant for the School-Age Program. This hybrid role combines on-site supervision with remote light administrative tasks, focusing on helping children after school, facilitating activities, and providing homework support.

The ideal candidate has a passion for youth development, strong communication, and teamwork, with willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
• Passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic computer literacy for remote administrative tasks.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.

• Assist lead teachers in supervising and engaging school-aged children in daily activities.
• Help facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, and creative programs.
• Provide support and guidance to children during homework and study periods.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment for all children in attendance.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding daily routines and children's activities.
• Undertake assigned administrative tasks remotely as needed, such as updating attendance records or preparing simple reports.
