Job summary

Hilton Taupo is seeking a Chef de Partie to lead a busy kitchen, preparing dishes to the highest standards and ensuring consistent taste and presentation for guests.

You will supervise line cooks, maintain cleanliness, monitor food quality and storage, assist with cost management, and coach team members while upholding health, safety and Hilton hospitality standards. Availability for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Demi Chef de Partie or similar.
• Culinary training certification or apprenticeship completed.
• Strong English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Able to work under pressure in a multi-cultural team.
• Knowledge of HACCP and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare great tasting dishes: season, cook and test per standard recipes.
• Supervise the kitchen team and support line cooks as needed.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination.
• Ensure food quality and proper storage/rotation.
• Assist with cost management and improve gross margins.
• Inspire and develop team members and monitor performance.
• Uphold health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol regulations.
