Job summary

PAK'nSAVE Westgate in Auckland is seeking a Checkout Operator to scan, pack and accurately charge customers while delivering top‑notch service in our Auckland store.

You will serve customers, handle the till, ensure items are packed with care, keep the checkout area tidy, and help in other store areas as needed.

Applicants must have NZ citizenship/residency or a valid work visa; training is provided. Hours include Mon 17:00–22:00 and Sun 17:00–22:00 (9 hours weekly).

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service mindset.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Willingness to assist in other areas of the store.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in line with company guidelines and ensure a friendly experience.
• Handle money accurately and balance till daily.
• Pack goods with care and separate perishable items as needed.
• Comply with Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures.
• Keep the checkout area clear and stocked with necessary items.
• Undertake housekeeping tasks such as cleaning counters and sweeping floors.
• Assist in other areas of the store as required.

The primary role of the CheckoutOperator is to scan, pack and accurately charge customers for products whilstproviding the highest standards of excellent customer service.

What you could be Assisting with:

• Serving customers appropriatelyas per company guidelines.
• Handling all money correctlyensuring the till balances daily.
• Packing all customers’ goods withcare ensuring breakages and damage to perishable items is minimized andall ‘smelly’ items are separated from food items.
• Comply with all of PAK’nSAVE Westgate’sHealth & Safety and Food Safety procedures.
• Able to show all customers your greatwelcoming smile even on the busiest days.
• You’ll be truly passionate about providingthe best possible in-store customer experience to our customers.
• Ensuring all draws on the checkout are appropriately alwaysstocked.
• Ensuing the floor around the checkout area is kept clear ofobstructions and credits/non purchased items are processed in a timely manner.
• Undertaking additional housekeeping as required E.g.cleaning he countertop, sweeping the floors, dealing with spillages andbreakages).
• Assisting in other areas of the store as required.
