Job summary

Reefton Distilling Co. is hiring a warm, hardworking Cellar Door Host to welcome visitors, guide tastings, and lead tours across both sites on a four-day week with weekend work. You will share our story, handle retail sales, and respond to online orders and enquiries. Full training provided; a driver’s licence and a positive attitude are essential.

The role offers a clear pathway to a full-time position for the right person, with start dates flexible from October through April.

Qualifications

• Warm and friendly manner with pride in Reefton and what it offers.

• Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work solo or in a team.
• Willingness to learn our spirits and talk about them confidently.
• Full, clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive between sites.
• Hospitality or retail experience is a bonus but not essential.

Job description

Reefton Distilling Co. is looking for warm, hard-working hosts to join the Guest Experience team at our Cellar Door. This is where visitors from all over the world meet Reefton - its history, its people and the premium spirits we make here on the West Coast. You'll be the face of Reefton Distilling Co., sharing our story and creating memorable experiences for guests.

Fixed term contract: 4 days a week with weekend work required. From October to April. We are flexible with the start and finish date.

For the right person, there’s a genuine pathway to a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

Welcome visitors to our Cellar Door and make them feel at home

Guide tastings of our premium products

Host distillery tours across both of our sites

Share the story of Reefton, our distillery and our products

Handle retail sales on our POS system

Process online orders and answer phone and email enquiries

Keep the Cellar Door, lounge and storage areas spotless

About you

A warm, friendly manner and real pride in Reefton and what it offers

Great communication and storytelling skills

A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work on your own and in a team

A willingness to learn our spirits inside out and talk about them with confidence

A full, clean driver's licence (you'll drive our vehicle between sites)

A Duty Manager's Certificate - or the willingness to get one once you start (we cover the cost; must be 21 years of age to obtain a certificate)

Hospitality or retail experience is a bonus, but not essential

Full training is provided. What matters most is the right attitude and the ability to pick things up quickly.
