Job summary

Amisfield in Queenstown, New Zealand, is seeking a hospitality professional with beverage expertise to join our award-winning team. You will craft cocktails, deliver insightful service, and help maintain our high standards during busy service.

This fulltime role offers on-site parking, staff discounts, healthcare, and opportunities to grow within Amisfield. Applicants should have NZ citizenship/residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Qualifications

• NZ beverage and food knowledge with at least 1 year experience.
• Proven commitment to high beverage service standards.
• Strong work ethic, reliable and able to stay calm in a busy service.
• Current Duty Manager's licence or ability to obtain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide all customers with a knowledgeable, informative and memorable experience.
• Ensure the requested sequence of service is undertaken.
• Display professional bar skills, mixing excellent cocktails and drinks.
• Provide table talk on all cocktails.
• Ensure all cocktail ingredients are known and memorised as per tasting notes.
• Ensure all wines are known and memorised as per tasting notes.
• Deliver effective communication with the kitchen and floor team.
• Assist with planning and execution of events if requested.
• Act as an ambassador for Amisfield, maintaining the brand and quality at all times.

About the Role

Just like our restaurant’s dishes, behind every cocktail there’s a story to tell, with recipes created on the bartenders quest to find a mixture with perfect balance of syrups, essences, liquors, and unique ingredients that characterize Central Otago. In this role you will be asked to:

About You

We are after a hospitality professional who is passionate about NZ beverage alongside NZ food & wine, and who has excellent bar experience, ideally including creativity.

• Good knowledge of food, wine and beverage operations, styles, and service with ideally at least 1 years relevant experience.
• Proven commitment to high standards of beverage service
• A strong work ethic, reliable and trustworthy
• Excellent time management and the ability to stay calm within a busy, demanding service
• A current Duty Managers licence or the ability to obtain one would be an advantage

This is a fulltime, permanent role (min 30 hours per week).
