Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Whangarei Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to step into the CCDM & TrendCare Coordinator role within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC). The position is permanent, part-time (32 hours per week), offering leadership across nursing, workforce planning, and informatics to support safe staffing and improved patient care.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with current annual practicing certificate.
• Post Graduate Diploma is required.
• PDRP at designated senior nursing level or midwifery QLP leadership domain.
• At least 3 years post-registration experience.
• Ability to work independently in a team, enhancing capability of the team.
• Administration, record keeping and communication skills.

• Support the Care Capacity Demand Management programme (CCDM).
• Implementation, maintenance and development of TrendCare patient acuity system across Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau.
• Provide ongoing development, coordination and facilitation of Nursing/Midwifery informatics at Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau.
• Provide leadership in nursing/midwifery informatics policy and practice based on best available evidence.
• Build and maintain professional networks with stakeholders locally and nationally to advance informatics and workforce planning.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in their leadership career and make a real impact across Te Tai Tokerau. As a CCDM & TrendCare Coordinator and key member of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), you’ll combine clinical expertise, workforce planning, data and informatics with exposure to the daily operational running of the hospital. Working alongside clinical and operational leaders, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to real-time decision-making, service improvement and workforce optimisation. You’ll play a key role in supporting safe staffing, improving patient care outcomes and using data to drive evidence-based decisions across nursing and midwifery services. A fantastic opportunity to step into your first designated senior nurse role, gaining valuable experience in senior leadership, hospital operations, workforce planning, informatics and service improvement.

In this role you will:
