The Duty Nurse Manager (DNM) role has nursing professional, clinical leadership and operational management accountability in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for inpatient hospital safety. Daily operational management includes a clinical safety overview of inpatient areas, capacity planning, seasonal variation response, variance response management and acute patient flow. The purpose of this role is to provide senior nursing leadership and support to clinical teams to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality care and treatment that enables the best possible outcomes for patients and service users. The DNM is supported by the Clinical Nurse Manager IOC in hours, and the on call Senior Manager out of hours.
The Duty Manager team are a small but dynamic group of Senior Nurses who are responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate and efficient management of staff and resources across Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau hospital sites. You will have an opportunity to hone your decision-making skills and to develop a greater understanding of how the hospital operates. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic team player, who has a flexible `can do attitude.
