Job summary

New Zealand Health Group – Napier Residential Services is seeking casual Support Workers to help the people we support. You will join a team delivering 24/7 in-home support, assisting with daily tasks, personal cares, meals, swimming and life skills.

We offer competitive pay, free training towards NZQA Health & Wellbeing, an Employee Assistance program, and a flexible roster including overnights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping others.
• Experience in healthcare preferred, including with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Full driver’s license essential.
• Flexible to work overnight shifts across rosters, including weekends.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work permit.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily life activities and help them do things they want to do (e.g., swimming, personal cares, meals, household tasks).
• Work as part of a team providing 24/7 support, with potential sleepover payments on some rosters.

We are looking for casual Support Workers to help the people we support in our Napier Residential Services.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding


• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.


• Full driver's license is essential.


• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.


• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
