Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a casual cleaner to contribute to a safe and hygienic hospital environment in Greymouth. You will join a small team that maintains Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital and Health Centre and provides cleaning services 365 days a year.

Starting from $28.63 per hour under the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, the role requires reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, customer service and time management skills.
• High level of patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Ability to follow Health and Safety procedures.
• Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health is preferred but not essential.
• Ongoing training and development.
• Time and a half on weekends and double time on public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards throughout the hospital in areas such as patient rooms, public areas and lavatories.
• Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes.
• Operating and maintaining equipment safely around patients and whānau.
• Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols.

You will be part of a small fast paced team that plays an essential part of maintaining Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital and Health Centre. The team provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year.
