Job summary

Auckland Council in Auckland is seeking someone for a casual role to help with exhibitions and community arts programs. You will network and build relationships with artists and gain hands-on skill development in our Gallery & Music & Arts Centre, with a clear pathway into creative careers such as Gallery Coordinator or Programmer.

Responsibilities include delivering exhibitions, creating engaging programs and events in Council facilities including openings and public events, delivering talks

Qualifications

Communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
Experience with admin tasks and social media is desirable.
Good organisation and time management are important.
A passion and knowledge of the arts help applicants stand out.
Ability to collaborate and design community art programs.

Responsibilities

Assist with the delivery of exhibitions and create programmes and events in Council facilities including openings and public events.
Assist with execution of talks, classes and workshops (Saturdays).
Provide walkthrough tours of the exhibitions for visitors and the local community.
Assist with exhibition documentation and social media updates.
Help with hospitality, hosting and delivering engaging art and crafts programs (FRESH & OMAC).
