Job summary

Auckland Museum is seeking a skilled Public Programmes Specialist to join our Public Programmes team within the Audience Engagement Directorate. You will develop, deliver and evaluate programmes that connect visitors with our exhibitions, taonga and stories across onsite, offsite and online experiences.

You will build relationships with communities, artists and partners, ensuring programmes run to time and budget while embracing Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Reo Māori and Pacific perspectives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on public programming & producorial experience.
• Strong cultural competency and knowledge of Māori and Pacific communities.
• Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to deliver end-to-end programmes within budget and timelines; comfortable with after-hours/weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate innovative public programmes for onsite, offsite and online experiences.
• Connect diverse audiences with Auckland Museum's exhibitions and stories.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across communities and professional networks.
• Deliver events, talks, performances and family programming on time and within budget.
