CMC Markets is seeking a Cash Operations Executive in Auckland to drive accurate and timely processing of Equity, Derivatives, and Crypto cash settlements. In this role you will join a dynamic settlements team, bring attention to detail, and work across internal and external partners to ensure precision and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience in stockbroking or settlements, strong numerical skills, and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a fast-paced financial operations environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the stockbroking industry or settlements is preferred.
• Strong understanding of trust account rules and settlement processes.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and familiarity with back‑office systems.
• Sharp attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn quickly across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash settlements including trust account reconciliations, batch runs, money market payments, and settlement with the NZX.
• Handle deposits, journals, payments, and real-time transfers while ensuring accuracy.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, banking partners, and external stakeholders to resolve queries and support smooth settlements.
• Identify and recommend improvements to settlement procedures and maintain clear documentation adhering to service and compliance standards.

What you'll be working on

You'll join an experienced team of Cash Operations Executives and help ensure the accurate and timely processing of a wide range of settlements.

• Manage daily cash settlements including trust account reconciliations, batch runs, money market payments, and settlement with the NZX.
• Handle deposits, journals, payments, and real-time transfers (RTGS/telegraphic) while ensuring accuracy.
• Liaise and collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, banking partners, and external stakeholders to resolve queries and support smooth settlements.
• Identify and recommend improvements to settlement procedures and maintain clear documentation adhering to service and compliance standards.

What will help you be successful?

• Experience in the stockbroking industry, ideally with equity and/or options processing.
• A strong understanding of trust account rules and settlement processes through custodians.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and familiarity with back-office systems.
• Sharp attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
• The ability to stay organised and proactive, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative approach and a willingness to learn quickly and build positive relationships across teams.
