Job summary

BJM Homes Limited is seeking two reliable Carpenters for our Auckland team. You will use blueprints and diagrams to shape forms, select materials, and build timber/concrete forms on site. You’ll measure precisely and assemble components, using chisels, saws, and drills to erect structures and finish details.

This role requires physical fitness and attention to detail. Ideal candidates have at least two years of relevant experience or NZQF Level 4 equivalent, and no criminal record.

Job description

BJM Homes Limited – Auckland, North Island

We are an Auckland-based residential construction company, established in March 2023. Due to continued growth in our residential construction projects, we are seeking two reliable Carpenters to join our team.

Duties

• Use building blueprints and diagrams to determine the proper dimensions, shape and design of a form structure
• Select and work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, concrete
• Build timber and concrete forms
• Use precise measurements to cut and assemble boards, timbers or plywood to the necessary size
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
• Secure the form with nails, bolts, screws or anchor rods.
• Once the form is secure, concrete is poured between the walls of the form. The concrete is mounded and shaped by the design of the form as it cures and
• Build stairs, mantles, and furniture
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
• Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings

Job pre-requisites

• Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience is required. Experience gained in the same industry, or a bachelor's degree in any field, may be considered as meeting the experience requirement. OR
• A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 in a relevant field may substitute for the experience
