Summerset Retirement Villages in Cambridge, NZ, is seeking a caring Caregiver to support residents with daily living, meals, hygiene and social activities.

This fixed-term role operates on a four-days-on, two-days-off roster with rotating AM/PM shifts; weekend rates apply and benefits include overtime pay and birthday leave. You’ll need empathy, aged care and dementia experience, and strong communication to build relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Experience working within dementia care, supported by a Level 4 dementia care qualification.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Commitment to a rotational roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts.
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Cambridge village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical Duties Include

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a fixed term role till May 2027, and working a roster of four days on, two days off (Shifts will rotate through AM and PM's - minimum 60 and maximum 80 hours per fortnight).
