Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Christchurch is seeking a Medical Imaging Technologist to join the Cardiac Cath Lab on a part-time basis (0.4FTE). The role involves high-quality imaging in a fast-paced environment, with potential to increase to 0.6–0.8FTE in the future.

You will contribute to imaging across OCT, IVUS, and ICE techniques, ensure patient consent and privacy, and support multidisciplinary team work. NZ registration and a strong general X-ray background are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in general X-ray.
• Current NZ registration as Medical Imaging Technologist is required.
• Minimum 2 years General X-ray experience.
• Cath Lab experience preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and MDT teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality imaging services, complying with standards.
• Apply OCT, IVUS, and ICE techniques for heart/vessel imaging.
• Confirm patient identity, explain procedures, obtain informed consent.
• Maintain patient privacy and cultural sensitivity.
• Complete administrative tasks with attention to detail.
• Participate in professional development and research.
• Contribute to continuous service quality improvements.
