Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Limited seeks a Manager Scheme Compliance to oversee day-to-day card scheme obligations across acquiring activities. You will lead governance, risk management, and remediation efforts, translating complex scheme rules into clear business actions.

The role requires strong stakeholder management and experience with Visa, Mastercard, and other schemes, ensuring timely reporting and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in payments, card schemes, acquiring or risk/compliance.
• Ability to interpret complex card scheme rules and translate into actions.
• Experience managing governance, audits, waivers and remediation in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of Westpac card scheme compliance obligations across acquiring and related activities.
• Maintain scheme governance, waivers, assurance activities and vendor delivery.
• Lead assessment and management of scheme rules, mandates and obligations.
• Maintain register of scheme obligations, actions, waivers, exemptions and remediation commitments.
• Act as operational liaison with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay and other schemes.
