Job summary

Northpower in Auckland is seeking a Capital Contracts Coordinator to support major works with a focus on contract administration and project coordination across infrastructure projects. You will manage registers, documentation and procurement, coordinate notices and variations, and help with cost tracking and reporting.

You will join a collaborative team, bringing strong organisational skills, experience in construction administration, and an understanding of contract forms.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contract, commercial or project administration within construction, utilities, infrastructure or a similar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain project registers, documentation and correspondence.
  • Coordinate procurement and subcontractor documentation.
  • Assist with contract notices, claims, variations, extensions of time and payment claims.
  • Track project costs, commitments, purchase orders, invoices and subcontractor claims.
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting, including WIP, forecasts and budget tracking.
  • Coordinating meeting agendas, minutes, actions and follow-ups.
  • Maintaining HSQE, environmental, quality, inspection and commissioning records.
  • Supporting project handovers, defects management and final close-out documentation.
  • Identifying missing information, overdue actions or commercial risks and escalating these early.

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised and commercially minded Capital Contracts Coordinator to join our Major Works team in Auckland.

Candidates must have prior experience in constructionproject coordination and administration.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supportingcontract administration throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintainingproject registers, documentation and correspondence

About You

You’re highly organised, detail-focused and confidentworking across multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders. You communicateclearly, follow up actions proactively and enjoy helping project teams stay incontrol of their commercial and contractual responsibilities.

You’ll ideally bring:
  • Experiencein contract, commercial or project administration within construction,utilities, infrastructure or a similar environment
  • Arelevant qualification in contract administration, constructionmanagement, project management or a related discipline
  • Anunderstanding of construction contracts, ideally NZS 3910 or similarcontract forms
  • Commercialawareness across purchase orders, invoices, WIP, subcontractor claims andvariations
  • Strongdocument control, reporting and record-management skills
  • Confidenceusing Microsoft Office, project reporting tools, registers and documentmanagement systems
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills
  • Theability to identify issues early and escalatingthem appropriately
  • Acollaborative and practical approach to supporting Project Managers, fieldteams, clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Astrong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Afull New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence, preferably
