Job summary

Northpower is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, estimation, and delivery of a diverse project portfolio. You will manage projects from scoping to completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high quality while coordinating with customers, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.

You will oversee budgets, WIP, invoicing and close-out reporting, and manage defect rectification across the network with focus on safety and customer impact.

• Develop project execution plans addressing health and safety, environmental, quality, communication, and risk management.
• Oversee budgets, forecasting, WIP, invoicing, and financial reconciliation.
• Coordinate labour, materials and resources with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, authorities and customers.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Complete project close-out reports and capture lessons learned.
• Manage defect rectification and maintenance work across the network, prioritising safety and customer impact.
• Plan and manage reactive and planned maintenance programmes meeting SLAs and standards.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, estimation, execution, and successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, including minor works, maintenance programmes, direct source and contestable works, and defect rectification and asset maintenance activities. You will manage projects from initial scoping through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, you will build strong relationships, coordinate resources, manage project risks and financial performance, and ensure customer expectations are met while contributing to the ongoing success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates and quotations and managing projects from planning through to successful completion. You will coordinate all aspects of project delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes developing project execution plans that cover health and safety, environmental, quality, communication, and risk management requirements. You will oversee project budgets, forecasting, work in progress (WIP), invoicing, and financial reconciliation, while ensuring all work packs and project documentation are complete and accurate. Working closely with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, local authorities, and customers, you will coordinate labour, materials, and resources to deliver projects efficiently. You will also monitor project progress, provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders, and complete project close-out reports, including lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

An important aspect of this role is the management of defect rectification and maintenance work across the network. You will coordinate the investigation and resolution of customer and network defects, prioritizing

repairs based on safety, operational risk, and customer impact. You will plan and manage both reactive and planned maintenance programmes, ensuring defects are addressed within contractual service level agreements and company standards. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of defect investigations, repairs, and maintenance activities, monitoring recurring issues, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and asset performance. Working closely with field crews, you will ensure maintenance and defect work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
