Job summary

New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) is seeking a Hospitality Operations Coordinator to oversee daily operations of the Campus Café and training kitchens at Mt Wellington, Auckland. You will ensure a safe, welcoming environment where students gain real-world hospitality experience while staff support learning outcomes.

You will manage cafe functions, assist with events, and provide practical assessment support to the academic team, coaching students to build confidence and industry-ready

Qualifications

• Hands-on hospitality operations experience in a cafe/kitchen setting.
• Strong cooking and food preparation skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management.
• Clear communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of hospitality industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations and functions of the Campus Café.
• Prepare, cook, and present food for the Campus Café, ensuring quality and safety.
• Assist the Team Leader to coordinate and manage the campus events and functions schedule.
• Provide practical assessment and teaching support to the academic team.
• Support students through encouraging, engaging, and effective coaching.
• Support the values of the organisation and actively demonstrate understanding.
