Job summary

Discover Waitomo is seeking a friendly Café Assistant to join the Food & Beverage team at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre. This permanent part-time position focuses on delivering a high-quality food and beverage experience for visitors, supporting service, food preparation, café presentation, cleaning, and daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to visitors.
• Prepare and present food and beverages to a high standard.
• Keep café, counters, tables, and equipment clean and well-presented.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and EFTPOS processes.
• Restock fridges and supplies with stock rotation practices.
• Follow food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
• Contribute to a positive team and support sustainable practices.

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Café Assistant to join our Food & Beverage team at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre.

About the role:

As a permanent part-time Café Assistant, you’ll help deliver a high-quality food and beverage experience for our visitors. You’ll support the team with customer service, food preparation, café presentation, cleaning, and day-to-day operations to ensure every guest receives a warm, efficient, and memorable experience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing friendly, helpful, and professional service to visitors.
• Preparing and presenting food and beverages to a high standard.
• Keeping the café, restaurant, counters, tables, and equipment clean and well presented.
• Using the point-of-sale system, EFTPOS processes accurately.
• Restocking fridges and supplies using stock rotation practices.
• Following food safety, health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
• Contributing positively to the team and supporting sustainable practices.
