Job summary

New Zealand Defence Force in Auckland is seeking a Special Operations Systems Integration Engineer to lead the design, integration, testing and ongoing improvement of advanced C4 systems across soldier platforms, vehicles, RHIBs and new tech.

Based in the 1NZSAS Regiment Tech Lab at Papakura Military Camp, you will gather requirements, manage projects, document technical details, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver capable, mission-ready solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years engineering/platform integration experience.
Hands-on experience integrating RF and Communications Information Systems (CIS) into mobile platforms.
Experience leading Agile projects and Scrum teams in Agile/DevOps environments.
Experience with military and commercial SATCOM systems.
Experience operating in secure environments and handling sensitive information.
Proven ability to train and mentor technical staff.

Responsibilities

Design, integration, and testing of networked capability solutions.
Development and enhancement of C4 systems across operational platforms.
Requirements gathering and project management for new capability initiatives.
Preparation and maintenance of technical and programme documentation.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and oversight of external contractors.
Supporting evaluation, training, and continuous improvement of NZDF networked capabilities.
