Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited, serving the Pak’nSave Hornby team in Christchurch, is hiring two part-time cleaners for the Butchery department. This role goes beyond cleaning; it supports packing, presentation and end-of-day tidy-up to uphold food safety and product quality.

You’ll work Sunday focus (18.5 hours) and Saturday focus (18.5 hours), with a shift pattern including Sunday 9:00am–6:00pm and Tue–Thu 3:30pm–6:00pm or Saturday 9:00am–6:00pm and Tue–Thu 3:30pm–6:00pm.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and comfortable working in a chilled environment.
• Able to work independently, follow instructions and manage time effectively.
• Understand importance of food safety, hygiene and procedures.

Responsibilities

• CLEAN IT RIGHT – Thoroughly clean and sanitise production areas, benches, equipment, floors and workspaces to food safety standards.
• GET INTO THE DETAILS – Pay attention to hard-to-reach areas and ensure nothing is overlooked.
• PACK WITH PRIDE – Assist with packing, labeling and presenting quality Butchery products.
• KEEP IT SAFE – Follow food safety, hygiene, chemical handling and Health & Safety procedures.
• STAY ORGANISED – Maintain clean, tidy and safe work areas throughout your shift.
• BE A TEAM PLAYER – Support the Butchery team and ready the department for the next day’s production.

TWO PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE!

POSITION 1 – SUNDAY FOCUS = 18.5 hours

• Sunday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Tuesday to Thursday: 3:30pm – 6:00pm

POSITION 2 – SATURDAY FOCUS = 18.5 hours

• Saturday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Tuesday to Thursday: 3:30pm – 6:00pm

Both positions include afternoon clean-down shifts and one full weekend day.

You'll be joining a busy, supportive Butchery team where everyone has a part to play in delivering quality and maintaining high standards.
