Job summary

New World Pukekohe is seeking an experienced Butchery 2IC to join our team. This role offers leadership of the butchery crew, ensuring high standards of meat quality, freshness and presentation while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will support the Butchery Manager with daily operations, manage stock, and uphold food safety, hygiene and safety practices in a fast-paced retail environment. Weekend and public holiday roster will apply.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a retail or production butchery environment.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat preparation.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Positive, initiative attitude with strong personal accountability.
• Clear and articulate communicator with high integrity.
• Computer literate; SAP knowledge preferred.
• Reliable, energetic and customer focused.
• Willing to work weekends/public holidays; rostered Tue–Sat.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with stock management, ordering, production, and minimising waste
• Ensuring the department is well presented and fully stocked

About you

• Has solid experience working in a retail or production butchery environment
• Has strong knife skills and a sound knowledge of meat preparation
• Has previous leadership or supervisory experience
