Foodstuffs NZ is seeking an energetic Qualified Butcher or a motivated Butchery Assistant to join our busy meat department in Wellington. The role welcomes both fully qualified trade professionals and those looking to start their career in meat butchery.

Key responsibilities include preparation tasks (cutting, traying, wrapping, pricing), customer service with merchandise guidance, strict adherence to NZ Food Safety standards, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked counter and self-service

• Reliability and teamwork are essential.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods in a chilled environment.
• Fluent English for clear communication with customers and team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation:Cutting, Traying, Wrapping & Pricing
• CustomerService: Greeting customers, answering queries, and providing tips onhow to cook different cuts.
• FoodSafety: Strict adherence to NZ Food Safety standards, hygienepractices, and health & safety protocols.
• Presentation:Ensuring the butchery counter and self-service cabinets are always fullystocked, clean, and visually appealing.

What We Are Looking For:

• Reliability:You are punctual, dependable, and enjoy working as part of a team.
• PhysicalFitness: Ability to handle heavy lifting and stand for long periods ina chilled environment.
• Communication:Fluent English to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Flexibility:Availability to work a roster that may include early mornings (e.g., 6:00AM starts) or weekend shifts.
• Legality:Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
