Foodstuffs NZ is seeking a motivated apprentice to join the butchery team in Timaru. You will work toward the New Zealand Certificate in Trade Butchery (Level 4) while earning and learning from highly experienced butchers.

Training includes hands-on practice and mentorship in a busy retail environment. The role focuses on preparing and presenting meat products, maintaining displays, and delivering friendly customer service with strict food safety compliance.

We're looking for a motivated apprentice to join our Butchery team and work towards the New Zealand Certificate in Trade Butchery (Level 4). You'll earn while you learn, gaining practical experience, trade skills and a nationally recognised qualification while being mentored by butchers with over 80 years of combined industry experience.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing, trimming and presenting a range of meat products
• Traying, packing and labelling products for sale
• Maintaining attractive, well-stocked displays
• Rotating stock and checking product qualityli>
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Learning the skills and techniques required to become a qualified butcher
