Job summary

New Zealand Clinical Research is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to drive partnerships with global pharma and biotech companies in New Zealand. This full-time role is based in Auckland or Christchurch and fixes term for 9 months as the team expands in a fast-growing clinical research environment.

You will lead proactive sales conversations, build strong client relationships, and turn opportunities into accurate proposals while coordinating with Finance, Marketing and Operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• At least 2 years' experience in pharma, biotech, clinical research or related field.
• Sales or marketing background with demonstrated lead generation ability.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and sales tools.

The Role

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic/vocational qualification.
• At least 2 years' experience in a relevant role (pharmaceutical, biotech, clinical research, or similar industry preferred).
• Scientific, sales, or marketing background with concentration in pharmaceutical/biotech.
• Strong track record in identifying and developing sales leads, managing the sales process, and negotiating contracts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across business development, finance, marketing, and operations.
• Proven ability to develop mid- to senior-level business contacts (desirable).
• Proficiency with sales automation systems, Microsoft Office, and related digital tools.
