Job summary

New World Churton Park in Wellington is seeking an experienced Bread Baker to join our in-store bakery team. You will prepare, prove and bake a wide range of breads, maintain high quality and work in a busy, supportive environment.

We offer a choice of full-time or part-time hours, competitive pay based on skills, a modern bakery, opportunities to develop your skills and a staff discount after probation. Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Bread baking experience, preferably within a supermarket or commercial bakery.
• Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
• Reliability and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Flexibility to work early mornings and at least one weekend day.
• A recognised baking qualification would be an advantage, but practical experience is most important.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, proving and baking a wide range of breads.
• Maintaining consistently high standards of quality and presentation.
• Planning production to ensure strong availability and minimise waste.
• Following food safety and health and safety requirements.
• Keeping the bakery clean, organised and ready for trade.
• Supporting the wider bakery team when required.
