Job summary

The Mayfair Christchurch, part of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, invites a Chef de Partie to join our boutique kitchen team on a fixed-term contract. The role offers independence, responsibility for your section, and the chance to deliver dishes with precision across service periods.

We require a recognised chef qualification with at least 3 years in a similar role, strong organisational skills, and weekend availability. Excellent teamwork and a calm, proactive approach are essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised chef qualification and at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Confidence to work independently and take sole charge for 2 nights, and take initiative while maintaining calm under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Availability to work weekends.
• A positive, easy-going attitude and commitment to teamwork and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and excellence during both quiet and high-volume service periods.
• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations, stock control, and compliance with the hotel’s Food Control Plan.
• Take ownership of your section, managing mise en place, service timing, and presentation standards.
• Maintain strict food-safety, hygiene, and health & safety practices in line with company and legislative requirements.
• Support and guide junior staff when needed, contributing to a professional, collaborative kitchen culture.
• Assist in developing new menu items and continuous improvement initiatives.
