Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a Chemical Pathologist - Biochemistry to join Te Tai Tokerau in Whangārei, Northland. The role provides complete oversight of Biochemistry within the Northland region, reporting to the Biochemistry lead and engaging with district laboratories.

Candidates must hold specialist MCNZ registration or be eligible, and FRCPA or equivalent is preferred. You will lead reporting, QA, and clinical pathway development, with a focus on collaboration

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in Pathology.
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in Biochemistry testing, QA, and public health interactions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Biochemistry services in Northland, including reporting and quality assurance.
• Lead clinical pathway development and technical oversight.
• Collaborate with Whangārei and district laboratories and ensure compliance with IANZ requirements.
