Job summary

Cycleways Christchurch is seeking an experienced bike technician to service and repair a variety of bikes, including e-bikes, MTB and road bikes, ensuring high-quality workmanship in a busy workshop.

You will diagnose issues, provide practical solutions, offer expert advice to customers and collaborate with the team to keep the workshop organized and efficient. Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in bike servicing and mechanical repairs.
  • Organised, able to manage multiple jobs and priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude and attention to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair a wide range of bikes, including e-bikes, MTB and road bikes.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Offer expert mechanical advice to customers and staff.
  • Complete repairs to a high standard and issue quotes.
  • Keep workshop organised, safe and presentable.
  • Assist with warranty assessments and process improvements.
  • Communicate progress and workload with team and retail staff.
  • Contribute to a smooth-running workshop and customer experience.

About the role

Every day, we strive to do the best for our customers — both new and returning. As one of our technicians, you'll play a key role in helping our customers get back on their bikes and do what they love most — cycling. This is a busy and varied workshop role where you'll need to be organised, efficient and able to manage multiple jobs while maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship.

Key responsibilities
  • Servicing and repairing a wide range of bikes, including e-bikes, mountain bikes and road/gravel bikes
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and providing practical solutions
  • Providing expert mechanical advice to customers and the wider team
  • Completing repairs and servicing to a consistently high standard
  • Preparing quotes, job sheets and clear descriptions of work required
  • Carrying out quality checks before bikes leave the workshop so they are always in optimal working condition
  • Assisting with warranty assessments and processes
  • Managing workshop jobs efficiently and communicating progress where required
  • Working collaboratively with the retail and workshop team to ensure the workshop runs smoothly
  • Keeping the workshop organised, safe and well presented
About you
  • Experienced in bike servicing and mechanical repairs

This role is Monday - Friday with an occasional Saturday if required
