Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is seeking an experienced Barista to craft consistently delicious coffee at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village in Nelson. This part-time role covers Saturdays 08:30-16:30 and Sundays 09:30-15:30, with a weekend allowance of $2.50 per hour for weekend hours.

You will join a supportive team dedicated to great customer service and resident satisfaction. We are looking for someone with cafe experience who can help run the cafe, support daily operations, and deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Previous Barista experience in a busy cafe environment.
• Experience leading or supporting a team in a cafe setting is helpful.
• Willingness to work weekends and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent food and beverage service in the cafe for residents, relatives and visitors; coffee making is essential.
• Handle coffee, till and food service operations during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the cafe and support colleagues.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily cafe operations.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team atErnest Rutherford Retirement Village in Nelson as aBarista / Cafe Assistant. This is a Part Time role working Saturday 0830-1630 & Sunday 0930-1530.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Barista to help run our café over the weekends. This is an exciting yet important role, best suited to someone with previous café experience and some leadership exposure, whether as an all-rounder or barista, who can confidently support daily operations and deliver excellent customer service.

In this role you will:

• Provide an excellent food and beverage service in the café for residents, relatives and visitors- Experience making coffee essential
• Have expeience working in a busy café
• Handle food, the till, and making great coffee
• Be responsible for crafting delicious beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the café
• Work closely with, and support your colleagues

About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:

• Previous experience as a Barista in a busy cafe environment
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills with the ability to multitask with coffee making, serving customers and food service
• Strong empathy with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• A reliable, friendly and professional manner with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
