Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Ltd is seeking a Bank Manager for Central Lakes, based at Wānaka or Queenstown. You will lead the branch with purpose, energising your team to deliver strong customer experiences in personal, business banking and wealth.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll oversee Wanaka, Queenstown and Alexandra, supported by an Assistant Bank Manager and Banking Advisers, driving people development and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Proven recent experience as a successful leader.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change.
  • A strong commitment to coaching and developing others.
  • A solid understanding of the local area (desired).
  • A tertiary qualification in Business (preferred).
  • FA qualification (desired).

Bank Manager, Central Lakes — Based at either Wānaka or Queenstown. Full time, Permanent, Monday to Friday.

As a Bank Manager, you’ll lead your branch with purpose, energy, and a sharp focus on what matters most: your people, your customers, and your community. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll be responsible for the development, leadership, and performance of your branch. You’ll build strong relationships both inside and outside the bank, helping drive business success and customer loyalty. You’ll also play a key role in shaping how we connect — through our spaces, technology, and capability — to deliver outstanding experiences for customers, staff, business partners, and the wider community. This role leads our Wānaka, Queenstown, and Alexandra branches, supported by an Assistant Bank Manager and a team of Banking Advisers and Customer Service Representatives. You'll inspire and empower your team to deliver outstanding customer outcomes across personal banking, business banking, and wealth.
