Qualifications

• 12+ months bakery or pastry-production experience.
• Experience weighing and measuring ingredients for production.
• Experience assisting with dough or sourdough prep and shaping.
• Ability to operate commercial bakery equipment safely.
• Practical food safety, cleanliness and allergen control knowledge.
• Physical ability for repetitive manual work and lifting.
• Availability for 2:00 am starts, weekends and public holidays.
• Reliable transport to attend all shifts, including early mornings.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
• Ability to work in a busy bakery team with punctuality.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare ingredients required by bakers and pastry cooks.
• Weigh and measure flour, yeast, sugar, fats and other ingredients.
• Prepare baking trays, tins, utensils, workstations and equipment.
• Assist with routine dough and sourdough preparation under supervision.
• Assist with mixing, kneading, dividing, portioning, shaping and placing dough.
• Safely operate mixers, kneading machines and other equipment.
• Monitor preparation and production processes and report concerns.
• Store ingredients and finished products properly and rotate stock.
• Follow food-safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain an organized, safe bakery production environment.
